To Whom It May Concern:
It is to be universally understood that Otis Pocus and his Afro-Cadabra are the foremost purveyors of mystical mugic (music + magic). The Quartet currently based in Northeast Ohio, has an explosive presence that has been known to captivate audiences and destroy the inhibitions surrounding the human imagination.
This sound refuses to be ignored. Onlookers are forever amazed by the dizzying bass work, and mush-minded vocal oddities of Otis Pocus, the hypnotic effects of Swami P.T. Blackstone’s ever- famed Indian guitar trick; the spastic fluidity of Prince Herbie Houdini’s polyrhythmic contortions, and of course none can deny the twisted splendor brought forth by the bizarre array of sonic illusions of Nikolai “digital” Catfish . The core of the sound is definitely gritty blues, soul, and funk the group fills in the gaps by liberally embellishing the semi-compositional material with elements of fusion & free form jazz, dub reggae, new wave, and experimental noise music.
The personal history of these four men as well as any details regarding the events that were historically instrumental to the formation of this group are, as of yet, officially undisclosed, and shall remain so indefinitely. None the less, one thing is for certain, Otis Pocus’ Afro-Cadabra is here, and they will be heard.
